The interdisciplinary team of the department of Realtime Solutions for Simulation and Visual Analytics, formerly Animation and Image Communication, is focused on research and development of real-time solutions in the areas of simulation, adaptive transmission, visualization, and efficient rendering of 3D data, as well as interactive visualization of very large amounts of multidimensional data. |

Our current applied research projects cover virtual prototyping of garments and neon light advertisement; the adaptive transmission and visualization of large amounts of 3D data on various device types; distributed, progressive, and collaborative visualization; and various solutions to simulation for the purpose of animation. A core research topic of our department is the area of Visual Analytics, the interdisciplinary combination of data mining and information visualization. Visual Analytics are solutions for the visualization of very large amounts of multidimensional data that are made interactively available to a user looking for decision support. Within this topic our department focuses on the area of interactive visualization and intelligent complexity reduction. |
