Market research indicates that the European market in these fields is dominated by SME and small enterprises, both of which stand to benefit from the COBWEB solution. COBWEB will enable SMEs to cost-effectively create and manage their own image databases. Small enterprises, which cannot afford the initial and on-going investment associated with creating their own images databases, will be able to link with others into networks, which will allow for significant economies of scale from sharing images. The project consortium is made up of supplier partners with extensive technological know-how and vast experience in implementing sophisticated IT projects, and user partners who will represent the needs of image handlers, thereby ensuring the development of real solution, tailor-made to keep the European publishing market at the forefront of technological progress. |
